چکیده

Objectives: Video head impulse test (vHIT) can evaluate function of the vestibuloocular reflex for high frequency range rotation. We aimed to characterize abnormal patterns canal dysfunction by vHIT in vestibular migraine (VM) and relationship between presence symptomatic improvement. Methods: Eighty-seven patients with VM were included. Abnormality at initial examination was determined gain degrees corrective saccades each side. The improvement (no need preventive medication) after modification life styles medications 1, 3, 6 months evaluated. Results: Abnormal lateral 13.8% when criteria 31.0% based on both saccade, regardless superior posterior canals 18.4% 27.6%, any side observed 47%. Patients showed 29.9%, 71.3%, 88.5% months. results significantly related poor response mediations. Conclusions: Prolonged medication required abnormal, suggesting that peripheral abnormality is closely pathophysiology migraine.

Relationship between video head impulse test (vHIT) and caloric test in patients with vestibular neuritis.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES The caloric test is the gold standard for the loss of vestibular function diagnosis. The Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT) assesses the same reflex by using a video- assisted examination of the impulsive maneuver. We intend to compare the variation of results of the vHIT and the caloric test in patients with vestibular neuritis with respect to their initial condition at...

Vestibular Function Tests for Vestibular Migraine: Clinical Implication of Video Head Impulse and Caloric Tests

Vestibular migraine (VM) is one of the most common causes of episodic vertigo. We reviewed the results of multiple vestibular function tests in a cohort of VM patients who were diagnosed with VM according to the diagnostic criteria of the Barany Society and the International Headache Society and assessed the efficacy of each for predicting the prognosis in VM patients. A retrospective chart ana...
